NIMA Corporation

The NIMA Corporation (Nunivak Island Mekoryuk Alaska) is a private, for-profit, Alaska Native-owned corporation representing the Cup’ig Eskimos of Nunivak Island. Incorporated in July 1973 pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANSCA) of 1972. NIMA is headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, with a local office in the village of Mekoryuk on Nunivak Island.

NIMA is committed to preserving the Cup’ig culture and traditions, which strengthen both our shareholders, their descendants, and NIMA. NIMA represents the only village on Nunivak and has shareholders in Mekoryuk, Bethel, and Anchorage, throughout Alaska and the United States, and Europe. NIMA acknowledges the importance of protecting our ancestral lands for the benefit of our shareholders, the development of our human and financial resources, and fostering of our relationships with the Cup’ig people and their descendants.
